Local Electrical Contractor Thriving Not Just Surviving!...

Electrical contractor, ‘Shout for an Electrician’ with its Head Office at Broomhill Way, continues to buck the trend with further expansion since the opening of the ‘Newton Abbot Appliance Repair Centre’ and Showroom premises on Brunel Industrial Estate 12 months ago. The latest acquisition is another new van from Vehicle Save Contract Hire & Leasing following the recent delivery of a fleet of four vans. ‘Shout for an Electrician’ has leased the latest vehicle to launch its 24/7 emergency service and taken on a new member of staff taking its number of employees from 11 to 12.

Established in 2007, the company is made-up of three divisions; Contracting, Electrical and Retail shop & Repairs, servicing both the domestic and commercial market. Corporate clients include blue-chip companies such as Burger King, Boots, Day Lewis Pharmacy, William Hill and the Co-operative covering a geographic reach from Plymouth to Bristol.

Andy Shout Director - ‘Shout for an Electrician’ says “We have maintained a presence in Torquay, Exeter and South Brent to service local customers, however since opening the new ‘Newton Abbot Appliance Repair Centre’ and showroom the business has exceeded all our expectations. The Repair Centre has proved successful during the recession and I think the main reason for this is that people are adopting a ‘make and mend’ attitude rather than being the throwaway society we have become. The good news is that we don’t make a charge to check faulty appliances such as vacuum cleaners and ghd’s and if we can’t fix them there is no charge to the customer. More often than not we can repair them on site at a reasonable cost saving substantial monies in replacement products. Also our pick-up and drop-off service is particularly popular with elderly customers.”

The latest acquisition of a larger van from Vehicle Save Contract Hire & Leasing can carry more stock for the 24/7 emergency service and will be branded to promote this services. This came about as a result of customer demand from business customers such as Burger King for their South West outlets.

A representative from Burger King says “The five restaurants Shout for an Electrician covers are always busy. If we have an electrical emergency or problem, even out of hours, they always attend within around 30mins. This is vital to ensure the safety of our staff and to allow us to continue trading with little or no disruption. This prompt and out-of-hours service is why we continue to use Shout for an Electrician.”
