Councillor John Humphreys; Mayor
of Exmouth carried out an official ribbon cutting ceremony to open the new show
home, a four-bedroom Town House, at a development in Exmouth. Built by
independent builders C G Fry & Son, ‘Hillcrest’ is located in the desirable
St. John’s Road on the site of a former school.
C G Fry & Son an independent
family-run business is renowned for its excellent reputation and extensive
portfolio of high-quality projects ranging from private individual houses to
major developments. The company has received numerous regional design and
quality awards throughout the South West for developments including the
prestigious urban extension known as Poundbury in Dorchester for The Duchy of
Cornwall and the triple award-winning Wyvern Park located in Barrack Road,
Exeter.
Hillcrest comprises 49 homes set
within generous grounds with a woodland landscape and spring flowers are in
abundance. The development design is carefully planned with streetscapes
of detached and semi-detached homes in brick, stone and render with slate and
tiled roofs properties to be in keeping with the local area. It consists
of spacious three and four bed houses and the new show home is a four-bedroom
town house.
The properties are set in the
grounds of the Withycombe House built in the early nineteenth century.
The property was Grade II listed in 1949 and in later years converted into a
school by Devon County Council before its closure a decade ago.
Cllr. John Humphreys says: “It
is great that a company like C G Fry & Son can have the vision to build
such fantastic family homes. It is exactly what Exmouth wants and needs
and will become a community within itself.
Kevin Murch Construction
Director – C G Fry & Son Ltd says: “We are very excited about this site
located in a prime position of Exmouth, a popular and lively town. This
development offers people the opportunity to live in quality, well designed
homes with real character in what feels like a parkland setting yet located by
the coast with all the convenience of being in town. Sales are
flourishing and we only have a few properties remaining on the current phase.”
